We had a fantastically busy Halloween Saturday evening to end the 2016 season, with many visitors dressed appropriately for the evening.
The museum is now closed for winter maintenance and will reopen on Good Friday 2017. We have a huge amount of work to do so there are many opportunities for more volunteers, so if you'd like to come along and help, we will be on site every weekend and some days during the week too.
We would like to thank all our visitors during 2016 and hope you had as much fun as we did running the rides for you. We hope to see you all again during 2017.

Hollycombe stages Fairground at Night on Saturday 15th October and Halloween Fairground at Night on Saturday 22nd October. Gates, grounds and cafe open both days at 6pm, with rides between 7pm and 10pm for what what are considered our 'highlights of the year'.
Don’t forget that Wheel Drive – in association with the East Hampshire Community Rail Partnership and Hollycombe – will be operating a free return shuttle service between Liphook Railway Station, the bus stop for Sainsbury’s Liphook and Hollycombe. The shuttle service will run through both evenings, picking up from Liphook Station at 30min intervals between 1815 and 2115, and returning from Hollycombe at 30 min intervals between 1830 and 2200. The service will be operated with a wheelchair and easily accessible 8-seater minibus. Should passenger numbers be high, extra services will run in both directions. Please support this service – with no usual public transport links in place between Liphook Railway Station and Hollycombe, the 15th and 22nd shuttle services offer visitors the opportunity to visitor Hollycombe yet leave the car behind! Fancy dress is very acceptable in the minibus on the 22nd October!
- 14th October 2016
We are halfway through our popular ‘Fairground at Night’ evenings, and remain open on Saturdays 8th, 15th and 22nd October – the last evening being a special Halloween themed event. However, next Sunday, 9th October, represents the last opportunity to visit Hollycombe during the daytime!
Recent visitors have not failed to notice the return of the Haunted House, now sitting in its home opposite the Austin Cars. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that it passes an inspection that will allow us to open the House, probably for the 22nd evening, though we’ll let you know if it can be earlier!
Please note that we have once again teamed up with Wheel Drive and the East Hampshire Community Rail Partnership to offer a free shuttle bus service between Liphook Station, Sainsbury’s Liphook and Hollycombe on both the 15th and 22nd October evenings – this is a free service; do take advantage of the opportunity, and also let your friends know! We’ll be posting a timetable for the shuttle service shortly.
Don’t forget that gates open at 6pm for Fairground at Night, with rides from 7pm-10pm, whilst our last daytime opening on 9th October will be from 11am-5pm, with rides from 12.30pm. It’s worthwhile coming that little bit early to enjoy the autumn colours that are developing in the Gardens – a brisk walk followed by warming refreshments in the Café is a great precursor to the fun of the Fairground!

Following a number of enquiries, we would like to advise potential visitors that Hollycombe will NOT be open in the run up to Christmas 2016. Our season ends on 22nd October (Fair at Night) and we will reopen at Easter 2017. Our apologies to intending visitors over Christmas but we have a busy winter maintenance programme which precludes us opening before Easter when we hope to see you all again. Meanwhile, we have a few Sunday openings left as well as our very popular fairground evenings, so don't miss out this year.
- 19th September 2016
Many of our summer visitors have been asking about the return of the Haunted Cottage (Ghost House).
It is in the final stages of restoration and the front is currrently being painted by Wayne Osborne of Osborne Signs in Midhurst, and one of our former volunteers whose artwork can also be seen on the Chairoplanes.
The plan is to complete this work by very early September and then move the Haunted Cottage back into the fairground. Before it can be open to the public, however, we have to have it inpsected by our Fairground Inspector. We hope to be able to open it for our Fairground at Night openings from mid September but this will depend on completion of the work and the Inspector's diary. We'll keep you posted!
