The Portsmouth & District Model Power Boat Club will also be attending with their pool and model boat display.

The trees are coming well into leaf and Spring flowers abound in the grounds.

Normal admission times and prices apply, so come along as there will be plenty to see and enjoy in addition to the normal attractions at Hollycombe, and the little engines are great for the kids to see and understand how they work. We look forward to seeing you then.

Don't forget when you've paid to come in, you can have as many rides as you like during your visist, and – even better – when you've been once, as long as you paid the normal entry price, you can come back free as many times as you like for a year (apart from four restricted days later in the year), so why not come soon and enjoy the fun!!!?

Coming to Hollycombe are a group with about 15 MGF cars, and a second group, the North Hampshire Austin Enthusiasts' Group, with a similar number of (mostly) Austins.

The MGs are due about 1130 and the Austins around 12 noon, so come along and enjoy the bonus of some classic cars as well as Hollycombe's usual steam-powered fun.

Inevitably, with the extreme bad weather we have had over the past weeks, coupled with the bitter cold, there have been a couple of casualties where ground work was required. This means that the Miniature and Standard Gauge Railways will not be running at present. Mr Field's Steam Circus has been taken out of service for planned maintenance. As the world's oldest mechanical fairground ride, it needs special attention, especially to its wooden horses, several of which were damaged by the wet summer last year.

There is still plenty to enjoy, from the narrow gauge Quarry Railway, through the ever-popular steam roundabouts and the unique 'white kuckle' Razzle Dazzle.

So come along and enjoy the fun, and remember that, in addition to all the rides being included in the admission price, once you've paid to come in, you can come back as many times as you like at no extra cost – now that's a bargain!

The volunteers have been very busy over the winter with routine maintenance, followed by several weekends building up the rides in often really inclement weather ready for the new season. The bad weather has meant that we are not as ready as we had planned but we hope to run as normal a range of rides as we can with one or two exceptions.

We look forward to seeing you again and catching up with old friends, but wrap up warm!

Easter weekend will see the return of the popular Easter trail and a large Easter Bunny will be around on Easter Sunday and Monday . . .

It's easy to book on line for any of this year's dates and events. Just click on the 'Buy Tickets Online' button.

However, you do not have to book online to come to Hollycombe. You can just turn up and pay on the day as usual.

The world's oldest Showman's Road Locomotive, Hollycombe's 1895-built Burrell 'Emperor', to be on display in a prime position outside the Brighton Centre which will greatly add to Hollycombe's exposure at the show.

In addition, we have been asked to take along our Juvenile Dobby ride to exhiibit inside the Centre which will be giving rides to younger children.

A new event will be our Easter Bunny Event on Easter Sunday & Monday. Full details will be announced later.

More events will be added as we get nearer the season, so keep an eye on the website for latest details.

In the meantime, our thoughts are turning to the huge amount of work required to get the rides ready for the 2013 season with starts on Good Friday, 29th March. We are planning an Easter Bunnies event for Easter, so keep watching our website for updates.

It's an ideal weekend as it is just before Christmas and Santa will be heading off to the North Pole to get ready for his dash around the world on Christmas Eve.

He will be accompanied by two of his reindeer - Dasher & Prancer - who are helping him out at Hollycombe, so the three will be heading off as soon as they have finished their work.

The past weekend saw lots of happy smiling faces as parents and children enjoyed the unuqie atmosphere that Hollycombe's Christmas weekends offer.

There have been strange sightings of reindeer stealing the passenger train and taking visitors on a winter ride on the scenicv Quarry Railway, while a snowman was seen giving out sweets to wide-eyed children. Santa was kept busy in his grotto, ably supported by his team of helpers.

So, why not have a look at our events pages, and book to come along and see Santa where the children will get a great present! There are still some places left, but don't leave it too long to book!

Santa will be visiting Hollycombe on 8th-9th, 15th-16th & 22nd-23rd December and there are still places available on all days.

Children get a good present, appropriate to their age, while parents can enjoy a glass of non-alcoholic mulled 'wine'.  We plan to operate the Quarry Railway and a range of children's rides and a miniature railway.

The restored ride opened for business for Christmas at The Ice Factor, in York's Designer Outlet, on 24th November, following several weeks for extensive paintwork restoration at Hollycombe on behalf of its new owner.

With two 'Halloween' themed Saturday evenings and one Sunday daytime opening remaining, now is your chance to ride the famous Razzle Dazzle, Golden Gallopers, unique steam-Chairoplanes and more before the winter shutdown when the rides are all taken down, tested and repaired for reopening at Easter 2013.

The Halloween evenings are a bit of fun and are intended to be a wee bit scary, but still great for all the family, especailly if you dress for the occasion as many of our staff will do.

You can take a ride on the railway and wonder what is lurking in the bushes; there are sure to be some strange sights and sounds!

Meanwhile, plans for our Christmas openings are well advanced, so why not have a look at what we have to offer and book up to bring the children, or grand children along?
