The steam engine and fairground collection at Hollycombe is set in acres of woodland, planted over the past 130 years. Serious planting begain in the Woodland Gardens in the 1880s with over 1,000,000 trees. | |

Woodland picnic area |
Our woodland picnic area provides a haven of tranquility. Only a couple of minutes from the fairground and visitor centre, the picnic area has large grass lawns and a number of picnic benches. |

Woodland Gardens |
Hollycombe has a variety of woodland trees including Beech, Lime and Conifers. Depending on the time of year, the woodland is carpetted with ferns, bluebells and daffodils. |

Azalea Walk |
Azalea walk, inside the loop of the Quarry Railway, was planted with the then new Mollis hybris in the mid 1920s. The Azaleas and rhododendrons are at their spectacular best in May. |

Peacocks |
Hollycombe is home to several breeding pairs of peacocks (and peahens) who can normally be seen around the visitor centre, quarry railway station and the farm. |
